How to play this game
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of this page to see examples of different ways to play our game
If you like to keep score and create your own baseball stats then this game is for you. We do supply a How To Play instruction sheet with the game, but wanted to give you and idea of what you can do to make the game more enjoyable.
We made this game to be simple and fast. There is a lot of games out there and the ones we have played include APBA and StratoMatic. Our game was designed by my brother and he uses the baseball stats for all players from the previous year. He has created a unique formula to calculate each player card for all the teams in the Major Leagues.
In the old days, we would just sit down at a table with player cards and a set of dice. We would have a blank scoresheet to record the baseball stats and away we would go. Sometimes if we had enough people
(usually no problem), we would create a league and hold a draft. We would meet on a Sunday afternoon and play against each other. I will never forget the roll of the dice, that's why we think the dice should still be part of this game. This day and age we have the tools to make it a little easier to play and save some paper. That is what I want to describe here.
I love to play just so I can keep score and keep baseball stats. I found a wonderful piece of software for PC's and Mac's called BallStat and BallScore. I use BallScore to score a game and then it is exported into BallStat to keep the stats for the year. Of course, back when we were younger we did this all manually, but this makes it much easier and is much more fun in my opinion.
BallScore and Ballstat can be downloaded for FREE! at: Ballstat.com
I have to admit, it does take some time to load your rosters and lineups, but after you save them they are there forever and much faster afterward. It is worth the work, the baseball stats that come out of this is amazing.

All our teams are sent via PDF files so you can view them on a PC or Laptop. You will be able to open all the charts and player cards via a PDF viewer ( Adobe is the most popular, but check out FoxIt it is a very nice alternative ) You will then have everything you need right on the screen. Ballscore has a Dice roller built into its software. You can get a card drawer at Random.org.
This is a brief explanation of how to play our game.
A full How To Play sheet comes with the game.
1. Each player uses a set of legal dice and a deck of official playing cards (including jokers) of their choice. On-line dice rollers and 54 card drawers can also be used.

2. Roll the dice for each player. Most dice rolls determine the final results for that at-bat.

3. Certain dice rolls will require a card to be drawn to determine the final results for that at-bat.

4. A “Craps” roll (1,1) or a “Boxcar” roll (6,6) will require you to reference the opposing pitchers card for the result.

5. You will be provided a Base Runner Chart to use for certain results. A Bunt Chart is also provided for use when a manager decides to have a player sacrifice bunt. Other manager strategies are also included such as “Hit and Run” and “Infield In”.

6. Pitcher Ratings are assigned to each pitcher card (eg. [SP_A2]. The example represents a starting pitcher with a game rating of “A” and a control rating of “2”.

7. Certain pitcher game ratings will limit extra base hits by the opposing batter.

8. Certain pitcher control ratings will limit walks, HPB, and IBB by the opposing batter.

9. The use of Pitcher Ratings is optional. It adds about five minutes to each game.

On the left you will see a picture which shows how one of our customers plays his game. He has chosen to print out the player cards and play not using his computer at all. Many people like this because it is the old fashion way and you still get the feel of rolling the dice.
Thank You Charlie Lord for sharing this picture.

In this example, we have loaded the PDF files into our FoxIt PDF viewer. If you click on the image it will zoom in and you can see it better. If you click on the image again it will go back to normal. Notice you can load both teams at once and then just switch tabs to look at the other team. It is a little more difficult to maneuver between players because it is a manually procedure.

In this example, we have taken it a little further. We have added bookmark to the left of the page which represents the batting order of each team. We have done some of our World Series teams this way. We have not done all of them because it is very time consuming, but when it is done it makes it much easier to play.
When you click on the players name it will bring up him player card. You can also change the batting order very easily by just moving the players name in the bookmark section.

IIn this picture, one of our customers designed this location chart to determine where the flyouts and groundouts go. We did not include in the game because we wanted to keep it simple and not as many charts. But, if you want to add it to your game experience he was willing to share his chart. Thanks to Kevin Elias for sharing with us.
